Dr Hugh McDermott is a Member of New South Wales Parliament, Australia. He is Chair of the State Parliamentary Labor Party Legal Affairs Committee and Chair of the NSW Opposition Disaster Readiness and Response Taskforce. Dr Hugh McDermott is also a Member of the Joint Parliamentary Committee on the Ombudsman, the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission and the Crime Commission.
Prior to his election to Parliament, Dr Hugh McDermott was as practicing Barrister-at-Law and Director of the Postgraduate Financial Crimes Programs and Senior Lecturer in Law Enforcement at the Australian Graduate School of Policing and Security, Charles Sturt University.
